SmokeLine

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

1.What SmokeLine Is

SmokeLine is a reference app for Counter-Strike 2 smoke-lineup positions, videos, and instructions. This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have.

2.Guest Use

An account is never required. You can search maps, watch smoke videos, view guide images, and save favorites entirely as a guest. Favorites saved as a guest are stored only on your device.

3.Signing In With Google (Firebase Authentication)

If you choose to sign in with Google, SmokeLine uses Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In. When you do, Firebase provides the app with the following basic profile information for your account:

  • Your Firebase user ID (UID)
  • Your display name
  • Your email address
  • Your profile photo URL

SmokeLine never asks for, sees, or stores your Google account password. Signing in lets your favorites sync across your devices; it is entirely optional.

4.Favorites Storage (Cloud Firestore)

If you're signed in, your favorited lineups are stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account, structured as:

users/{uid}/favorites/{lineupId} — containing only lineupId and createdAt.

SmokeLine does not copy the full lineup content (videos, images, instructions) into this record — only a reference ID to the lineup already built into the app. As a guest, favorites are not stored in the cloud at all.

5.Information Stored On Your Device

SmokeLine stores a small amount of app-state information locally on your device, using standard Android local storage (SharedPreferences). This includes:

  • Your favorited lineups (guest mode, or as a local cache once signed in)
  • Whether you've acknowledged the current Terms of Service / Privacy Policy version, and which version
  • An internal counter used to space out interstitial ads (see Section 7)

This information stays on your device and is not something SmokeLine's own servers collect, because SmokeLine does not operate its own backend server at all — see Section 6.

6.Video & Image Delivery (Cloudflare R2)

Smoke lineup videos and guide images are streamed from Cloudflare R2, a cloud storage/CDN service, directly to the app's own built-in video and image player. They are never opened in an external browser. SmokeLine's backend access credentials for R2 (access key and secret key) are never included in the app or sent to your device — the app only ever requests public, read-only media URLs.

7.Advertising (Google AdMob) & Consent (Google UMP)

SmokeLine shows banner ads and, after roughly every second smoke you actually watch (at least 1 real second of playback), an interstitial ad, using Google AdMob. No rewarded ads or app-open ads are used.

Before requesting any ad, SmokeLine uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to determine what consent, if any, is required in your region, and to collect that consent where applicable. Ads are only requested once this consent flow allows it. You can review or change your choice at any time from Settings → Legal & Privacy → Privacy Options, when available.

As part of showing ads and running this consent system, Google (as the ad and consent-management provider) may process device and advertising identifiers and related technical data, under Google's own privacy policies. SmokeLine does not build its own advertising profile of you outside of what Google's SDKs handle on Google's systems.

8.Internet Connection

An internet connection is required to stream smoke videos, load guide images, sign in, sync favorites, and load ads. Core navigation (choosing a map, side, and region) works offline, but media itself requires a connection.

9.Third-Party Services

SmokeLine relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore)
  • Google AdMob (advertising)
  • Google User Messaging Platform (consent management)
  • Cloudflare R2 (video and image delivery)
  • Steam — sign-in with Steam may be offered in a future version of the app. It is not active in the current version, and no Steam account information is collected until it is.

10.Your Rights & Choices

You can use SmokeLine fully as a guest without ever creating an account. If you sign in, you can sign out at any time from Settings, which returns you to Guest mode without deleting your locally saved favorites. You can also request deletion of your account and its cloud data — see Section 11.

11.Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app, or through the external request process described on our Account Deletion page. Deleting your account removes your Firebase Authentication account and your Firestore favorites (users/{uid}/favorites/*). Favorites stored only locally on a device are removed when the app's local data is cleared or the app is uninstalled. Some anonymous or aggregate data handled by third-party providers (such as Google AdMob) may be retained for a limited time under those providers' own retention practices, independent of SmokeLine.

12.Children's Privacy

SmokeLine is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 15 so we can address it.

13.Security

SmokeLine relies on the security infrastructure of Google Firebase and Cloudflare for the data it handles, and follows reasonable practices to protect information within the app — for example, never storing or transmitting your account password, and never embedding backend service credentials in the app. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14.Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as SmokeLine's features change. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above, and the app will ask you to acknowledge the new version before continuing, the same way it did for this one.
